The recently concluded Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Maoist Center unanimously passed the thirty-page political report presented by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. President Dahal summarized that the sixth meeting has become a meeting of transformation, unity and victory.

Earlier, Deputy General Secretary of the party Haribol Gajurel and Janardan Sharma had submitted written supplementary votes, as the report presented by the chairman addressed the basic issues, both of them supported the report.

The title of the political report presented by President Dahal was 'Resolution of Party Transformation and Reconstruction, Today's Need', expressing the feeling that the main focus of the meeting is party transformation. The meeting emphasized the need for transformation of the party and its leaders and workers, who had campaigned against corruption and in favor of good governance during the last government.

The meeting has decided that in the first stage, from the party central committee to the provincial officials, the details of their assets and sources of income should be submitted to the party, and the audit commission will study and investigate it and recommend action if it is found to be wrong. It is expected that this new initiative, which is intended to be done in terms of political parties, will help in the transformation of the party.

Everyone is emphasizing that the lifestyle, behavior and conduct of the leader-activist should conform to the proletarian norms. Along with this, it was raised in the meeting that the party should pay special attention to the care, protection and respect of martyrs' families, missing families, people's war wounded and disabled warriors.

Although not in the union and state governments, the Maoists, who have won 123 local government chiefs, have given special emphasis to the issue of driving them with importance as a model. It has been promised that a common manifesto of socialist-oriented local governments will be issued to search for the embryo of socialism in every local government.

Congress debate

Eighth Congress of Maoist Center was held on 11-18 January 2078 and 1-3 February 2080. In this meeting, there was an intensive debate on whether to go to the regular ninth convention or a special convention. In this regard, the debate was opened in the political report of President Dahal himself.

After extensive discussion, it has been decided to conduct the 'Maoist with Janata' campaign for the first 6 months and to go to the regular convention in the second 6 months. It has been decided to synthesize ideas after more extensive debate, discussion and exploration of the 'Nepali Way of Socialism' presented and passed in the 8th Congress and to elect the leadership through direct elections according to the organizational structure passed by the 1st Legislative Congress. In this way, it has been decided to hold the Ninth Congress in November 2082.

In the Maoist Central Committee meeting this time, the issue of unity with the components including the Biplava-led CPN, which had split from the Maoists in the past, also got a place. In the past, the participants emphasized on prioritizing the unity with the same schooling and like-minded constituents with the bitter experience of not being able to sustain the unity made without sufficient preparation and discussion with the party with different schooling.

CPN led by Netravikram Chand Biplav, NESP led by Mahendra Rai Yadav, CPN (Majority) led by Dharmendra Bastola, Aam Janta Party led by Prabhu Shah decided to form a high-level unity dialogue committee for unity. For the time being, despite the emphasis on unity with the Maoist component, the discussion is also kept open for unity with other leftist and progressive forces who want to gradually move towards socialism.  In the

debate Jen-G

Like other countries in the world, in Nepal, the Gen-G generation seems to be forcefully increasing its role and influence in the society. This is a generation that is unprecedentedly educated, enlightened and influenced by the latest information technology invented by the human community. The Gen-G generation is a kind of social media, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok generation.

Yesterday's generation used to make assumptions based on events, contradictions and surroundings in the society. But the Gen-G generation builds their views based on the debates, waves and storms of social media rather than society itself. This means that the traditional norms of the society are gradually breaking down and new norms are being established. It seems that the standards of yesterday's economics, yesterday's sociology and yesterday's political science are no longer working for this generation.

Its greatest impact is seen in the political system and elections. The 2079 general election saw the rise of the Gen-G generation in a series of events. New political parties and leadership emerged overnight. In the past, the way parties and leaders were born was completely different. The tradition of people who have been in prison for years, who have struggled for a long time and who have practiced series of party life to become leaders, broke down to a certain extent in the 2079 elections. People who are involved in different mediums of social media became leaders overnight. The interest and intervention of the Gen-G generation was seen to influence the election in various ways.

The interference of Gen-G generation will increase in the upcoming 084 elections. They will reach a place where they will influence not only themselves but also their families and society. But there is no guarantee that their impact will be positive. One of the scary attitudes that this generation has grown up in is that this generation seems to be more obsessed with 'viral' topics than truth and facts. To avoid its negative dimensions, it is necessary to increase information technology literacy, media literacy and digital literacy.

In the past, the younger generation was less interested in politics and elections. But with the arrival of the Gen-G generation, youth participation and awareness in politics and elections has increased qualitatively. The Gen-Z generation can break many accounts and establish new accounts in the upcoming elections.

Gen-G generation wants society and politics as they think and seek. Against this background, an important discussion has been held for the first time on how to establish their ideas, politics and leadership with this generation that has not seen or experienced the People's War. Chairman Dahal's report covers this issue with priority.
