The status of the country is established at the same level as those in higher positions respect the constitution, laws, rules and procedures. However, we have the exact opposite practice. Here, the greater the position, the greater the immunity. The latest example is the construction and inauguration of View Tower in Damak.
It is said that the view tower, which was built after five years under the leadership and special emphasis of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, will now be operated as a smoke business complex. It is ironic that the government, which has not allocated budget for roads, bridges, schools and hospitals, is building a commercial complex.
When Damak Commercial Complex was built, neither the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of this structure was done, nor the map was passed. In this country, a common man can build his dream house without passing the map? Or can a project be made without EIA? If he can't make it, how can the prime minister? This violence has not increased the weight of the Prime Minister or the law. This has only strengthened the belief that the law is only for the people.

Initially, the target was set to complete the construction by 27 January 2078, but the construction company extended the deadline and completed the work in 5 years due to problems including covid. The cost of this 18-storey view tower is one and a half billion. The prime minister called those who criticized the justification of Bhimkaya structure as ignorant. Proudly discussing the future and potential multi-purpose of the View Tower, the Prime Minister claimed that they have created a 'gem' at the inauguration ceremony on Sunday. However, there is still no clear picture of how the gem will be utilized. Because, the necessary management modality and solid action plan for the operation of the tower has not been made.
There are many questions about the construction of Damak Commercial Complex. How can such 'commercial towers' be prioritized by the government? Where there is a high potential for business and profit, the private sector creates the necessary infrastructure. The government will build basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity and drinking water. But it is a misuse of the budget for the state to invest in a tower that is reached by crossing a weak road. On the other hand, the cost of such a tower is high. But financial returns are not guaranteed. Or even after a long time. The same is certain to happen in the case of Damak Tower. Because, even months after the completion of the construction, there is no sign of it being operated effectively. May operate in the future. But it is clear that the current priority is not this tower. At this time, citizens expect that structures such as schools, hospitals, and bridges should be built as a priority of the government and the pride of the ruler.
