A few days ago, there was an increase in employee turnover in a private organization. After learning that her colleague had left the job, Roopa (name changed) called the person near the top post saying that she was willing to work at the same position.

It was not uncomfortable to talk because they were acquaintances and the employee also assured to raise the matter with the higher authorities. Rupa sat there saying that it is good, otherwise the work is going on right now. She was a little hopeful because the staff she called was dependable. 

In a few days, a male friend he knows has been appointed for that position. She found out after a friend who worked in the same office posted the photo on social media. Then things started playing in Rupa's mind, even though I informed her that I am willing to work in the same place, a male friend of her acquaintance has been placed.

She became even more thoughtful - did the person I called not believe me because I am a woman? While the 16-day campaign against sexual violence was going on, she immediately revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by someone she did not know.

Discrimination is violence. Gender-based violence is also when an employee treats a lower-ranking employee differently. Both men and women will work equally. I have never heard of an employee being dismissed because I am a woman and I cannot do this job.

On the contrary, various studies have shown that the work done by female employees can be trusted more and the work performance is also better. Women working in any field have experienced that male and female employees of the same level working in the same office are treated differently by higher level employees. Depending on the gender, the wages of ordinary laborers are also different. This topic is often exposed on Labor Day. Even in politics, women leaders have been complaining that they are not given a chance in higher positions because of their gender. 

Recently, the form of violence in society is changing. The trend of sending unwanted messages through the phone, men trying to increase intimacy with women who do not have a husband, has caused a rift in some marriages. Even in a good relationship, there is a gap of distrust. 

Ram's (name changed) house was going well. He had taken a good girl as his wife. After some time, Ram got in touch with a girl he liked while studying in school, both of them were busy on the phone for hours. Rama's wife got suspicious.

After that, the dispute between them started to increase. Both men and women are at fault in this incident. Recently there are many such incidents but they do not come out because of the fear of family, society etc. Other people connected with such families have to face different kinds of mental problems. 

In some cases, there are examples in our society of men going to work abroad as soon as they get married. But we have seen and heard cases of wives of many of those who went for foreign employment marrying someone else because their biological needs are not fulfilled after marriage. With this step, both men and women are exposed to gender violence. Therefore, it is seen that women and men should decide the way forward only by understanding the situation and needs. In what direction will these events lead the society? Both should think. 

Based on gender, if the behavior of one person makes another uncomfortable, then that is gender violence. Whether it is a man doing to a woman or a woman doing to a woman. It is time to realize that if you do not understand the behavior of others, you will not understand the same behavior you have done to others. Some cases of sexual violence cases that have not even been registered are made public. But whether justice has been done on the complaints registered or not is not very public.
