Due to floods, landslides, and erosion, various major highways and road sections across the country have been obstructed. According to Nepal Police, a nighttime vehicle operation ban has been imposed on the BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli. In view of the potential risk of flooding, all types of vehicles are prohibited from operating on the Khurkot–Nepalthok–Katunje Bensi road section from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Similarly, on the Kanti Lokpath, due to the monsoon season, all types of vehicles are prohibited from operating from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. until further notice.
According to the Police Headquarters, the Mechi Highway at Rajduwali in Ilam Municipality–9 has been completely blocked after mud accumulated on the road section. The Araniko Highway at Jirokilo in Ward No. 4 and Kodari in Ward No. 2 of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok, has also been completely obstructed due to landslides.
After the Samakoshi River eroded part of the Lamasanghu–Ramechhap Highway, transportation services have been disrupted. Police stated that an alternative route has been brought into operation through the premises of the Khimti Rural Electric Cooperative office. When a landslide occurred on the Pasang Lhamu road section, the Trishuli–Mailung–Syafrubesi earthen road section was also blocked.
Likewise, after the water level rose in the Ghyakar River in Baragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality–3 of Mustang, the Jomsom–Korala road has been completely obstructed.
Police have stated that the Department of Roads and local bodies are continuing efforts to clear the blocked roads.
