Due to landslides, floods, and mud accumulation on roads following continuous rainfall, major highways and road sections in various districts across the country have been affected.
The police have reported that roads in seven districts are completely blocked, and vehicle movement has been restricted at night on some roads.
On the Khurkot–Nepalthok–Katunje Bensi section of the BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli, all types of vehicles have been prohibited from operating from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. until further notice, considering the risk of possible flooding. Similarly, on the Kanti Lokpath, due to monsoon-related risks, all types of vehicles have been prohibited from operating from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. until further notice.
The police have reported that the Mechi Highway at Rajduwali in Ilam Municipality–9 has been completely blocked after the road became muddy. The Araniko Highway at Jirokilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality–4 and at Kodari in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality–2 in Sindhupalchok has been completely blocked due to landslides.
The Kaligandaki Corridor at Belbagar in Jaimini Municipality–8, Baglung, has been completely blocked after a landslide.
The Lamabagar–Ramechhap road section at Kirnetar in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality–5, Dolakha, has been completely blocked after the Samakoshi River eroded the road.
The Nagm–Gamgadhi road section at Pina Khola in Chhayanath Rara Municipality–7, Mugu, has been completely blocked after a landslide.
