The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that rainfall was below average across the country in July.
The average rainfall in July should have been 558.8 millimeters, but so far it has been 304.30 millimeters. According to the department, in the last 24 hours, 372 of the 414 rainfall measurement centers in the country have received rainfall. During that period, an average of 11.7 millimeters of rainfall has been measured across Nepal. Patharkota in Kapilvastu has received the highest rainfall of 167.0 millimeters in the last 24 hours.
The maximum temperature was measured at 35.7 degrees Celsius in Manthali in Ramechhap, while the minimum temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius in Humde in Manang.
According to the department's meteorologist David Dhakal, there is a possibility of rainfall in various places in the country as the monsoon is active. The department has urged the general public to take necessary precautions as moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to occur, especially in some areas of the hills and Terai.
