Civic leader Devendra Raj Pandey has passed away at the age of 87. Pandey passed away on Friday evening at his residence in Bishalgar, Kathmandu. According to Dr. Anup Subedi, who is closely aware of his health condition, he was battling pancreatic cancer. Pandey had led a movement on behalf of civil society in 2062 BS expressing dissatisfaction with the working style of political parties. He had also become the Finance Minister in the interim government formed during the transition period after the change in 2046 BS. As an economist, he had tried to reform the economy at that time. Pandey has a daughter.
