In the past three months, there have been 3,296 disaster incidents across the country. 160 people have died in those incidents.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, two people have gone missing and 945 people have been injured in the disaster incidents from April 1 to June 32. During this period, 4,375 families have been affected.
The authority stated that the highest number of fire incidents was 897, out of which 17 people died, 109 were injured and 990 families were affected. During that period, there were 514 snakebite incidents, out of which 38 people died, 479 were injured and 517 families were affected.
Similarly, in 477 hurricane incidents, 13 people died, 68 were injured and 1,356 families were affected. In 433 landslide incidents, 12 people died, 15 were injured and 351 families were affected.
In 223 lightning incidents, 24 people died, 120 were injured and 262 families were affected, according to the details released by the NEA, while in 181 incidents of wild animal attacks, 17 people died, 103 were injured and 287 families were affected.
Similarly, in 161 incidents of floods, nine people died, two went missing, nine were injured and 396 families were affected. In 153 incidents of heavy rain, four people died, one was injured and 132 families were affected.
Similarly, in 55 incidents of landslides, 21 people died and 35 are still unwell. In one incident of rockfall, two people died.
In three months, 191 forest fires were reported, in which one person died and two were injured. In two avalanche incidents, one person died and one was injured.
