Prime Minister Balendra Shah met with women entrepreneurs today. Prime Minister Shah met with the officials of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Nepal at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Shah expressed his government's commitment to provide any necessary support for the development of entrepreneurship. He said that the government is working to remove all obstacles for women entrepreneurs and will create an environment to promote their products in every tourist destination, according to the Prime Minister's Secretariat.
In the discussion, the representatives of the federation demanded a business-friendly environment where they can work confidently, special programs and mandatory participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, BTUs (Business Matching) and export promotion to bring goods and services to the national and international markets. Accepting the request to establish the 'I am an Entrepreneur' trademark brand brought by the federation in the market, Prime Minister Shah encouraged the launch of this brand in the market immediately.
In the discussion, the officials demanded institutional cooperation from the government in their annual International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair. They requested that all government offices and educational institutions implement a system of mandatory procurement of goods and services from women by giving priority to the Public Procurement Act/Regulations to make women entrepreneurs a partner in the procurement process.
Complaining that real women entrepreneurs are not getting financial incentives, they demanded that this facility be extended to the villages, expanded in scope, and an alternative arrangement for collateral should be made so that their dreams do not die due to lack of capital.
Demanding that the Federation, the sole umbrella organization of women entrepreneurs, be involved in every policy-making level and government mechanism of the government, they committed to mobilizing highly skilled resource persons from the Federation for skill-based training at the local level.
