Risk of flash flooding in some places

Department flood expert Binod Parajuli said that the flow of small rivers flowing through Ilam, Jhapa, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Saptari, Sunsari, Morang, Doti, Dadeldhura and surrounding districts will increase significantly today, raising the risk of flash floods.

The department has stated that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the hilly and Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and one or two places in Madhesh province. 

According to the department, the monsoon winds are currently affecting the country and the low pressure line of the monsoon is located south of the average in the eastern part of Nepal and around the average in the western part.  

The department's flood expert Binod Parajuli said that the flow of small rivers flowing through Ilam, Jhapa, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Saptari, Sunsari, Morang, Doti, Dadeldhura and surrounding districts will increase significantly today and there is a possibility of flash flooding. 

According to the department, light to moderate rain has occurred in most parts of the country in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of 98.6 mm was measured in Yangjakot of Kaski, according to the department.
