Bird flu has been brought under control in seven districts. Bird flu, which began in Chaitaya, has been brought under control in Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Mahottari, Bara, Chitwan and Nawalparasi.
Bird flu is an infectious disease. This bird-borne disease had recently spread to 11 districts. According to the Department of Animal Services, bird flu has not been brought under control in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kavrepalanchok.
The department has mobilized a technical team to control the disease and destroyed all birds, bird products and bird production materials in the infected areas and managed them safely, informed the department's spokesperson Dr. Mukul Upadhyay.
During the disease control, the Animal Quarantine Office had adopted high alertness and patrolled and destroyed illegally imported birds. The department has now relaxed transportation after the disease is under control.
According to Upadhyay, spokesperson of the department, bird flu is an infectious disease with a high mortality rate in birds, so the necessary manpower has been mobilized in the areas where the disease has been detected in coordination and cooperation between the federal, provincial and local levels.
