The Government of Nepal has expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the Royal Amnesty granted to 111 Nepali prisoners by the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 2026.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today, expressing its high appreciation for the goodwill gesture of the amnesty as an expression of deep friendship and cordiality in the existing bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE.

The decision to grant the amnesty was taken by the Government of the friendly country UAE in response to the request made by the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, as per the directives of the Ministry.

The pardoned Nepali citizens, provided that there are no other pending legal cases or travel restrictions, will be able to return to Nepal after completing the necessary legal and administrative procedures as per the prevailing laws of the UAE.
