The influence of monsoon winds is continuing across the country. The low pressure line of the monsoon is located south of the average in the eastern part of the country and around the average in the western part, according to the Hydrology and Meteorology Forecasting Division.

According to the division, it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country this afternoon. It will also be generally cloudy in the Terai areas of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and there is a possibility of partial to generally cloudy in the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces.
Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the Terai of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, some places in the Terai of Koshi and Bagmati Provinces and one or two places in Madhes Province. The Division has stated that heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly and Terai of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Similarly, it will be generally cloudy in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces tonight and partly to generally cloudy in the remaining provinces. Rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning are likely at some places in the Himalayan region. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and Terai areas of Sudurpaschim Provinces, hilly areas of Koshi and Karnali Provinces and hilly and Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
Rain with thunder and lightning is also likely at one or two places in the Terai area of Koshi Province and Madhes Province. The division has urged people to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in the hills and Tarai of the Sudurpaschim Province.
