The government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah has made public the major achievements of its 100-day term on Saturday.
Government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel made the achievements public at a press conference on Saturday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
The first point made public by Minister Pokharel includes the issue of reducing the number of federal ministries. Spokesperson Pokharel said that the number of ministries has been reduced to 18 as mentioned in the election manifesto of the National Independent Party (NISP). He said that with the reduction in the number of ministries, it is estimated that about 20 billion rupees will be saved in the state treasury annually.
Similarly, he said that the efficiency will be increased by reducing expenses through the abolition and adjustment of other structures, and that a positive message has been sent from the reformative work including the abolition of trade unions and student organizations close to political parties.
