A Karnali Province-2-001 Kha 10055 Force vehicle, which was going from Birendranagar in Surkhet to Raskot in Kalikot, fell into the Karnali River at Sangetada (Chisapani) in Chamundabindrasaini Municipality-7 in Dailekh.
According to the Provincial Police Office, the vehicle of Bulbule Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. fell into the Karnali River about 400 meters below the Karnali Highway.
DSP Shravan Kumar BK, the head of the Dailekh District Police Office, said that the passengers who were unconscious on the cliff were rescued.
According to SSP Santosh Singh Rathore, spokesperson of the Karnali Province Police Office, five passengers boarded the vehicle that left Surkhet Bus Park at 8 am on Thursday. ‘It was also reported that some passengers boarded it on the way,’ he said, ‘the vehicle is submerged in the river.’ We have also informed the Armed Police Force divers for rescue.'
According to him, police from the District Police Office, Dailekh and surrounding police units have been mobilized to rescue the passengers. He informed that a team including Provincial Police Chief DIG Jayaraj Sapkota is also on its way to the scene.
