The Hydrology and Meteorology Division has said that the monsoon is gradually becoming active across the country and that there will be torrential rain in most parts of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday (16 and 17 Ashad). The division issued a special weather bulletin on Sunday evening, stating that there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly and terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and very heavy rain in one or two places.

It is said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the hilly and terai regions of the country and moderate rain in some places in the mountainous regions.

According to the division, as the flow of water vapor-rich air towards Nepal will gradually increase due to the low pressure system developed in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of the monsoon spreading to the rest of the country as well.

The Division has requested the public and concerned bodies to be vigilant as the risk of soil erosion, flooding, landslides and flash floods may increase due to the possible rainfall, inundation in urban and Terai areas, and water levels in large and small rivers may rise.

The Division has urged the general public and concerned bodies to make necessary preparations as daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction around rivers, and road and air transport may be affected.
