This year's monsoon has entered Nepal. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, the monsoon entered Nepal on Friday afternoon. According to the division, the monsoon is currently active only in some areas of Koshi Province.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has estimated that about 1.997 million people in 457,145 households across the country will be affected by monsoon-related disasters this year. According to the National Action Plan for Monsoon Preparedness and Response made public by the Authority on Wednesday, the people of Lumbini Province will be affected the most by this year's monsoon. 523 thousand 656 people out of 1 lakh 19 thousand 830 households in Lumbini will be affected, and the least number of people out of 29 thousand 132 households in Karnali Province will be affected.

Similarly, it is estimated that 327,376 people from 74,914 households in Bagmati, 287,107 people from 65,699 households in Gandaki, 275,867 people from 63,127 households in Koshi, 228,687 people from 52,331 households in Madhesh, and 227,730 people from 52,112 households in Sudurpaschim will be affected.
