The National Examination Board has made public the results of the annual examination of Class 12.
According to the board, a total of 418,170 candidates, including 332,241 in the regular section and 85,929 in the partial section, participated in the examination. Of these, 231,770 in the regular section and 36,420 in the partial section, a total of 268,190 candidates, including 36,420 in the partial section, have obtained grades in all subjects.
This year, the passing percentage (grade obtained) in the regular section is 69.75 percent and 42.38 percent in the partial section. Overall, 64.13 percent of the candidates have passed. The government has directed to publish the results within 45 days of the end of the examination, but the board has published them within 40 days.
The board's meeting held on Friday stated that action has been taken against 40 candidates who were found to have committed irregularities in the examination. Of these, 38 have had their exams cancelled in all subjects of the current section, while the exams of two candidates have been cancelled and it has been decided that they will not be allowed to participate in any examination conducted by the board for the next one year.
The board has stated that the results can be viewed on the board's websites result.neb.gov.np and neb.gov.np, Nepal Telecom's website, SMS, IVR and USSD services.
Candidates who are not satisfied with the results can apply online for retotaling from 11 am on Ashad 6 to 5 pm on Ashad 12 by paying a fee of Rs 1,000 per subject.
