Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has called on Chinese investors to invest in Nepal and jointly contribute to building the next chapter of ‘trans-Himalayan’ prosperity.

He made the request while addressing an investment conference organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing on Tuesday, who is on a four-day official visit to China. Minister Khanal said that the Nepalese government is committed to highlighting Nepal’s economic opportunities and demographic strength and ensuring a more capable and business-friendly environment, according to the embassy.

He met with Chinese businessmen, entrepreneurs and investors as part of the conference organized by the embassy with the aim of promoting Chinese investment in Nepal. On the occasion, a presentation was made by a representative of the Nepal Investment Board on investment opportunities in Nepal.

Minister Khanal met with Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, in Beijing today. During the meeting, discussions were held on further strengthening the cordial and friendly relations between Nepal and China and promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest, according to the embassy.

Similarly, Minister Khanal visited the White Stupa at the Miaoying Temple in Beijing. The heritage site, designed by Nepal's national icon Araniko, is a symbol of Nepal-China friendship and a testament to Nepal's historical gentle strength, the international reputation of Nepali artists, and the prosperity of Nepali architecture.

Minister Khanal interacted with representatives of Chinese and international media today and shared his views on Nepal's foreign policy, Nepal-China relations, the priorities of the newly formed government in Nepal, and Nepal's engagement with the international community.

He arrived in Beijing on Sunday at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister and Political Bureau member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Wang Yi. Minister Khanal is scheduled to return home tomorrow, Asad 30, after completing his visit.
