Gandaki's budget has been decreasing continuously for 3 years

Gandaki Province brought the highest budget of 35.9 billion rupees in the fiscal year 2079/80. Since then, it has been gradually decreasing. The lack of internal resources and the decrease in grants from the union have put pressure on the province's budget. Minister for Economic Affairs Jit Bahadur Sherchan is presenting the budget in the Provincial Assembly. The highest budget for physical infrastructure

Janakpur - The Madhesh Province Government has allocated the highest budget for physical infrastructure. A budget of Rs 12.1 billion has been allocated to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Development. Similarly, Rs 2.44 billion has been allocated to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Rs 2.9 billion to the Ministry of Education and Culture, Rs 5.95 billion to the Ministry of Health and Population, Rs 3.77 billion to the Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water, Rs 331 million to the Ministry of Labor and Transport, Rs 3.77 billion to the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Rs 1.33 billion to the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Rs 1.4 billion to the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare, and Rs 683 million to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Communications and Law. - Ajit Tiwari

The Janakpur-Madhesh Province Government has allocated a budget of Rs 41.1386 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/2084. Of which Rs 14.6632 billion, or 35.54 percent, has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 26.4753 billion, or 64.36 percent, for capital expenditure. 

The budget estimates that Rs 11.2275 billion will be collected from internal revenue and miscellaneous receipts as sources to meet the estimated expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year, and Rs 12.83 billion will be received from the federal government as revenue sharing. 

Similarly, Finance Minister Bhattarai informed that Rs 9.4959 billion will be received from the federal government as financial grant and Rs 6.852 billion from the remaining cash balance of the current fiscal year. The remaining Rs 1.50 billion will be met from internal loans. 

The budget estimates that the total amount of grants received from the federal government will be Rs 7.84 billion, Rs 8.10 billion, Rs 2.88 billion, Rs 94 billion, Rs 74 billion, and Rs 70 billion, including financial equalization grants, supplementary grants, and special grants. Similarly, the budget estimates that Rs 12.83 billion will be received for federal revenue sharing. –Ajit Tiwari

Madhesh allocates budget for provincial police recruitment

Janakpur - The Madhesh Provincial Government has allocated a budget for police recruitment to implement the Provincial Police Act in the upcoming fiscal year 083/084. Presenting the budget in the Provincial Assembly meeting on Monday, Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai said that the necessary budget has been allocated to advance the police recruitment process to implement the Provincial Police Act. The Madhesh Provincial Government has already brought a bill in 075 BS to make provisions for the formation of the Provincial Police, which is in the single list of provinces in the constitution.

While the federal government has been delaying police socialization, the provincial government has not been able to bring police under its control. Almost all the Chief Ministers of the Madhesh Provincial Government have been complaining that they are having problems working due to the police administration not being their own. While the federal government is reluctant to give police under the province, the Madhesh Provincial Government has allocated a budget for the first time to recruit provincial police to implement the Police Act. -Ajit Tiwari

Janakpur - The Madhesh Provincial Government has increased the salaries of employees working in the province by 10 percent in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai, while presenting the budget of the Madhesh Provincial Government on Monday, informed that the starting salary scale of employees has been increased by 10 percent and dearness allowance has been continued. Janakpur- The Madhesh Provincial Government has banned the Tukre scheme in the fiscal year 083/084. In the budget presented by Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai on Monday, the Madhesh Provincial Government has said that it will not allocate budget for schemes worth less than Rs 10 million from the next fiscal year. The Tukre scheme has been removed from the budget. According to Finance Minister Bhattarai, no budget has been allocated for schemes worth less than Rs 10 million. The government used to give high priority to the Tukre scheme and schemes working through consumer committees in previous budgets. -Ajit Tiwari

The number of ministers in Madhesh will be limited to 9 to reduce administrative costs.

 

The Madhesh government is set to reduce the number of provincial councils to nine members, including the Chief Minister, effective from the upcoming Shrawan, to reduce administrative expenses. Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai gave this information while presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 in the provincial assembly meeting on Monday.

Madhesh Province budget ceiling to be reduced

According to the province's Ministry of Finance, the budget ceiling for the upcoming fiscal year will be lower than the previous fiscal year. Finance Minister Bhattarai, while presenting an economic survey in the provincial assembly meeting on Sunday, estimated that the gross domestic product of Madhesh Province would reach 883 billion. He said that this would contribute 13.1 percent to the country's overall economy. Similarly, he informed that the overall economic growth rate of Madhesh Province has been limited to 1.31 percent due to external and internal factors.
