Due to the influence of the western low pressure line (trough) in the upper atmosphere in Nepal and local winds, there is a possibility of rain in various parts of the country.
According to the Hydrology and Meteorology Forecasting Division, it is currently generally cloudy in most of the mountainous and hilly areas of the country, including Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, while it is partially cloudy in the Terai region. Light rain is occurring in some places in Lumbini province and one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
It is predicted that it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country, including Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces, and partially cloudy in the rest of the Terai region this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in Koshi and Madhes provinces and some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country. The division has stated that rain may also occur in one or two places in the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight too, it will remain generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country, including Koshi Province, while it will remain partly cloudy in the Terai areas, including Madhes Province. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi Province and Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. It is also said that rain and snowfall may occur at one or two places in the Terai areas of Madhes Province, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and the mountainous areas of the country.
The Division has urged all concerned to be alert as rain, lightning and snowfall may partially affect daily life, agriculture, road and air transport.
