The Nepali Embassy in Thailand has requested Nepali citizens who are hiding in Cambodia without legal basis due to various temptations to return to Nepal by June 12 (this is Jestha 29). 

The embassy issued a notice on Sunday, informing all concerned that Nepali citizens who are hiding in Cambodia without legal basis due to various temptations will be immediately arrested and face severe legal punishment according to the new legal system of Cambodia. 

The embassy said, 'The Cambodian government had facilitated the return of 602 Nepali citizens who have reached Cambodia for various purposes and have not renewed their visas even after their visas expired, by waiving visa fees and fines, but when contacted via email, phone and WhatsApp, it has been found that the following Nepali citizens have not shown any willingness to return to Nepal to date.'

The embassy also stated that the Cambodian government has made arrangements to investigate foreign citizens who do not return to their country within the specified time and, depending on the nature of the offense, fine up to five hundred thousand US dollars and life imprisonment, depending on the nature of the offense.

The embassy said, 'Therefore, all concerned Nepali citizens are requested to arrange tickets with a 'connecting flight' as soon as possible and return to Nepal by 12 June 2026, and their families and relatives are requested to make arrangements to return their loved ones to Nepal as soon as possible based on this information.'
