The government has made public the names of the directors of 23 cooperatives that have been declared problematic.
The Problematic Cooperative Management Committee under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration made their details public on Wednesday.
The committee has also requested the public to report any information about the directors who have been made public embezzling the savings or assets of the cooperatives and hiding them in the names of their families, relatives or other persons.
The committee has directed the directors to cooperate in the settlement of liabilities, debt recovery and asset management of the concerned cooperatives and asked them to coordinate with the committee in the return of savings and liability management.
The committee has also warned that legal action will be taken if they do not do so.
