Due to the influence of the western low pressure line in the upper atmosphere, local winds and the low pressure line active near Nepal from west to east, cloudy weather, rain and wind are forecast in various parts of the country.
According to the Hydrology and Meteorology Forecasting Division, it is currently generally cloudy in most of the mountainous and hilly areas of the country, including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces. It is partially cloudy in the Terai region. Moderate rain is occurring in some places in Lumbini Province, while light rain is occurring in some places in Gandaki and Karnali Provinces.
This afternoon, the Division has stated that it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of the country, including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and partially cloudy in the rest of the Terai region.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces as well as in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Thunder and lightning are also expected in one or two places in the Terai areas of Madhesh Province and Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Similarly, it is said that tonight it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous areas of the country including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while it will be partially cloudy in the hilly areas and the Terai areas of Lumbini province. The division has forecast that the weather will be mainly clear in the rest of the Terai areas.
There is also a possibility of light rain or snowfall in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces as well as in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and in one or two places in the Terai areas of Lumbini province and the mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
The Division has urged all concerned to be alert and stay updated on the latest weather information as there is a possibility of gale force winds in some places in the Terai region of Lumbini Province.
