The National Human Rights Commission has recommended an investigation into the incident of Bhadra 23 and 24, chairperson of the inquiry commission, Gauri Bahadur Karki.

The committee led by commission member Lily Thapa has recommended an investigation into Karki based on his statements. The commission has recommended an investigation based on Karki's statements on social media before, during and after the demonstration, saying that he may have played a role in inciting the demonstration.

The commission has also put the names of Karki, the then Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, on the list of those to be investigated. The commission has recommended an investigation saying that they too took to the streets and made statements during the Gen-G movement.

The government had formed a high-level judicial inquiry commission under the coordination of Karki, who is also the former president of the special court, to investigate the repression, arson and vandalism during the Gen-G movement and the demonstration. The commission submitted its report to the then Prime Minister Sushila Karki on February 24.
