Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and UK Minister for the Indo-Pacific and Equality Seema Malhotra have met.
During the meeting held at the ministry on Friday, they discussed various aspects of Nepal-UK relations and emphasized the need to modernize these relations. In addition, discussions were held on expanding cooperation in the areas of investment, trade, education, tourism, climate action and digital technology.
On the occasion, Minister Khanal requested Minister Malhotra to address the concerns and grievances of former British Gurkhas that have not been resolved for decades as soon as possible. Minister Malhotra expressed the view that the British government is positive in resolving the problems of former British Gurkhas, the ministry said.
Minister Malhotra arrived here today for a three-day visit to Nepal. During the visit, he is also scheduled to meet other government ministers and visit Lumbini and Kapilvastu.
