The process of sending 1,153 Nepalis who were out of the selection process (lottery out) to work in Israel's long-term care centers as workers cannot be immediately taken forward. The Ministry of Youth, Labor and Employment issued a press release on Tuesday, urging them to participate in the upcoming advertisement and complete the process again.

According to the bilateral labor agreement signed between the governments of Nepal and Israel in 2020, Nepali workers are being sent to various institutional long-term care centers in Israel as 'long-term auxiliary' workers, the ministry said.

According to the ministry, 2,112 Nepali workers were selected through a lottery among the candidates who applied based on the advertisement published by the Department of Foreign Employment on Asad 11, 2081, based on the minimum qualifications. Most of them have already reached Israel and the rest are in the process of leaving.

However, the ministry has been repeatedly requesting and discussing the sending of 1,153 candidates who did not make it to the lottery to Israel, the statement said.

The ministry has also stated that it has taken the necessary diplomatic initiatives through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Embassy in Nepal as per their demands. However, according to the information received from PIWA, the ministry has clarified that it is not currently possible to move forward the process by including the 'lottery out' candidates. The ministry says that PIWA has informed them that they can participate again in the upcoming advertisement.

The ministry has urged the eligible 'lottery out' candidates to participate in the upcoming process as a new lot advertisement will be issued by the Department of Foreign Employment. The ministry says that the new advertisement should be taken into account in the light of the currently implemented labor agreement, the rules, systems and existing conditions of Israel.

Similarly, the ministry has also made public its views on the demands of candidates waiting to go to South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) after passing the language test. The ministry has stated that diplomatic initiatives have been taken with the Korean government after receiving repeated requests for roster addition, roster change and extension of the time period.

However, the ministry says that there is no need to put further pressure or demand on this issue as the process will proceed as per the Nepal-South Korea labor agreement and EPS system. The ministry has urged all candidates and stakeholders for cooperation and understanding.
