In the second meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle presented the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill (excluding the tax proposal).
The proposal presented by Finance Minister Wagle includes issues to strengthen the Constitution of Nepal and the existing system and make it effective. The proposal has five principles and five priorities.
The five principles of the Appropriation Bill include the dividend of good governance that is felt by the citizens, restructuring the economy by controlling the exploitation of public assets and corruption, integrated infrastructure development for proximity, all-round social upliftment and expansion of the middle class and strengthening of soft power.
Similarly, the priorities of the Appropriation Bill include legal institutional reforms and the use of information technology for service delivery, reprioritization of sectoral sources of economic growth, multilateral capital mobilization for physical infrastructure, social investment for equality of opportunity, social investment for equality of opportunity, and diversification of multidimensional international relations. Finance Minister Wagle also announced the strengthening of the social market economy, development of digital public infrastructure, and implementation of a simplified tax system.
Finance Minister Wagle presented the proposal in the National Assembly meeting today.
