Improvement has been seen in the 2082 SEE results, which were made public within a month after checking the answer sheets at the examination center. In the results released by the National Examination Board on Monday, 65.98 percent of students passed. Last year, 61.81 percent passed. This time, there has been an improvement in the results by 4.17 percent.

Out of 430,667 regular candidates, 284,000 passed while 146,507 failed. Supplementary examinations for failed students will be conducted from Ashad 1, according to Examination Controller Tukraj Adhikari.

Earlier, it used to take up to 3 months to publish the results. This time, the results have come within 29 days of the end of the examination. The government had announced that the SEE results would be made public within a month and the Class 12 results within one and a half months. The improvement in the results is due to the improvement in the learning of students and the arrangement to check the answer sheets in schools, says the board's member secretary Jang Bahadur Aryal. This time, the number of students who scored GPA 3.60 to 4 is 48,392.

The number of students who scored GPA was almost the same last year. There are 80,372 students who scored GPA 3.20 to 3.60. Similarly, 94,222 students scored GPA 2.80 to 3.20. The highest number of students scored GPA in the medium level. The number of students who scored GPA 2.40 to 2.80 has remained high in the previous year as well. There are 55,977 students who scored GPA 2.40 to 2.80. The number of students who scored GPA below 2.40 to 2.0 is 5,190. There are only 7 students who scored GPA 2.0 to 1.60. Last year, there were 8.

Although there is an improvement in the overall results, there is an imbalance in the province. While 78 percent passed from Bagmati, only 51 percent of students passed in Sudurpaschim. The results of Sudurpaschim, Madhesh, Karnali and Lumbini are weaker than the national average (66 percent). Bagmati, Gandaki and Koshi are ahead of the national average. Karnali, which was better than the national average last year, is seen as weak this time.

Improvement in SEE, 66 percent pass rate

42,299 candidates participated from Sudurpaschim. Of which 20,635 or 48.78 percent failed and only 51.22 percent passed. Last year, 55 percent passed from Sudurpaschim.

32,336 students from Karnali participated in the SEE. Of which 13,241 (40.94 percent) failed. Only 59.06 percent qualified for admission to class 11. Last year, 70 percent passed from Karnali.

61.34 percent of students passed from Lumbini, while 38.66 percent failed. There were 72,149 examinees in Lumbini. 27,993 failed. Last year, 51 percent of students failed. While 72.76 percent of students from Gandaki passed, 27.24 percent failed. 36,492 students participated in Gandaki. Of which 9,943 failed. Last year, 76 percent passed from Gandaki.

Bagmati always ahead of the national average, the highest number of 98,817 students participated. Of which 21,704 failed. 78 percent of students from Bagmati passed and 21.96 percent failed. Last year, 82 percent of students were successful.

Madhesh has improved its results compared to the previous year. However, it has not reached the national average. While 58.43 percent of students from Madhesh passed, 41.57 percent

students failed. Last year, only 28 percent were successful. This time, 76,317 candidates from Madhesh participated in the exam. Out of which 31,725 failed.

Out of 72,256 candidates from Koshi, 21,366 or 29.56 percent failed. 70.44 percent passed. Last year, 51 percent passed.

According to the examination board officials, the results were not satisfactory due to shortage of subject-specific teachers in remote districts, poor literacy among parents, and poor learning achievement of students. The Letter Grading Guidelines 2078 have made provision for grading (passing) only if a student obtains at least 35 percent in theoretical and 40 percent in internal assessment in each subject. Students who cannot obtain these marks are non-grading (failed). Candidates who are not satisfied with the results can apply for re-sit from Jestha 1 to 7, said Member Secretary Aryal.
