The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday filed a case against Karki and Adhikari, former secretaries Keval Bhandari, Maheshwor Neupane, Suresh Acharya, current secretary Danduraj Ghimire, then director general of the Civil Aviation Authority Pradeep Adhikari and Sanjeev Gautam, Chinese company CMC and its representatives in a special court.
A corruption case has been filed against them on charges of providing tax exemptions to Chinese contractor China CMC Engineering Company Limited, contrary to the original agreement, during the construction of the airport, according to the CIAA's assistant spokesperson Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari. A sum of Rs 3.62 billion 522 thousand 160 has been fixed against the defendant.
