Biometric (biological) details of members of the federal parliament have been taken for the purpose of electronic attendance of the meetings of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.

The Parliament Secretariat had requested the lawmakers to provide biometric details to record their attendance in the meetings of both houses electronically.

The Secretariat has requested the lawmakers to attend the offices of various committees in Singha Durbar from Thursday to April 28 and provide biometric details.

Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri said that the attendance records previously managed at the International Conference Center in New Baneshwor were destroyed during the Gen-G movement, so the lawmakers have been requested to provide details again.

He informed that in the first phase, electronic attendance will be recorded for the meetings of the House and electronic attendance of the committee meetings will be managed gradually.

Both houses are meeting from April 28 at 2:00 PM.
