Nepal Micro Insurance Chairman Ashish Shrestha has been released on bail. The District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, has said that businessman Shekhar Golchha was released on bail after the district court refused to extend his remand under the Insurance Act, saying that the same treatment would be given to him. He was also handed over to his family on April 22.
He was released on the condition that he appear at the time sought for investigation. Shrestha was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police on April 15.
Shrestha, 46, was arrested from Kageshwori Manahara-5, Kathmandu, for investigation on charges of committing an offense against the Insurance Act 2079 BS. He was arrested for investigation under the BIM Act on the basis of a letter from the Insurance Authority.
