The government has shown active efforts to control the trend of receiving double and unlimited benefits from the state treasury. In this context, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide the exact details of the vehicles being used by former distinguished officials today.
The details have been sought from the Ministry of Home Affairs after a recent study conducted by the Prime Minister's Office found that some former distinguished officials were using more vehicles than prescribed by law or were receiving double benefits from different bodies.
Under the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, a complete details of the benefits being received by former Presidents, former Vice Presidents, former Prime Ministers, former Chief Justices, former Speakers of the House and former National Assembly Speakers have been requested to be sent via email within office hours today.
Informing about this step, Prime Minister Balendra Shah's press and research expert Deepa Dahal said that the government has strictly demanded details to prevent misuse of state funds and maintain good governance. According to him, the aim of this directive is to identify facilities taken beyond the limits of the law and make the system transparent.
The government has shown this activity at a time when there has been criticism for a long time that former specials are using government resources against the norms. Based on the details received from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the government is preparing to return the vehicles of those who take facilities beyond the norms and to make the facility-related process more systematic.
