Out of 18 arrested during the investigation, on 1 Ashad 2080, the bench of then Judge Prem Prasad Neupane had ordered the remand of Rayamajhi, Khand, then Secretary Pandey, and then Home Minister's advisor Rai. Also, Bhutanese refugee leader Teknath Rijal, organized gang members Keshav Prasad Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Sagar Rai, Sandesh Sharma, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Narendra KC, Govinda Kumar Chaudhary, Ram Sharan KC, Angtawa Sherpa, Chairman of the Haj Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs Shamsher Miya, and middleman Haribhakta Maharjan are also in remand custody. Tanka Gurung, one of the defendants, was released on bail of Rs 1 million and Laxmi Maharjan on bail of Rs 5 million. The following year, on 9 Baisakh 2081, another supplementary case was filed in court against five people, including gang member Keshav Dulal, on the complaint of Dawafuri Sherpa.
