Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Forest and Environment Geeta Chaudhary has said that the government is committed to solving the problems of the Muktakamai community in terms of food, shelter, education, health and employment.
At an awareness rally organized by the Muktakamai Community District Committee, Kanchanpur, at the open forum in Shuklaphanta Municipality-10, Jhalari on Saturday, she said that the government will move forward together in the fight for the rights of Muktakamai, Haliya, Harwacharwa and Kamlari.
Stating that she is the daughter of this community, she will work more responsibly towards this area and said that she will work by prioritizing the resolution of land-related problems. 'Your problems are also my problems, I am aware of this. Therefore, I and the government are with you in the fight for rights,' she said.
At the program, House of Representatives member Kriparam Rana emphasized that the government should be serious about the judicial rehabilitation of the Muktkamaiya, Kamlari, Haliya and other reservation victims. 'Some have land deeds, but no land. Some have land, but no land deeds,' he said, 'The land given is not usable because it is near the river bank or forest area, they are forced to live at the risk of floods and landslides, this situation must end now.'

The foundation stone of the Daiji Chhela Industrial Area in Bedkot, Kanchanpur, which has been in the news for three decades, was laid five years ago, but the construction work has not progressed. Despite the expectation of an area of about 900 bighas, a cost estimate of nine billion rupees, and the creation of 22,000 jobs, the work has not progressed due to deforestation and procedural complications.
