A farewell ceremony was organized at the Armed Police Force Headquarters on Friday to bid farewell to Aryal, who is going to retire. During that ceremony, Aryal also said that he had worked honestly for the country, the people and the organization during his tenure.
Inspector General Aryal handed over the responsibility to the newly appointed Inspector General Narayan Dutta Poudel on Friday.
With this, Aryal retired from the organization.
Monday's cabinet meeting had promoted AIG Poudel to the position of Inspector General with effect from the 19th. Aryal, who joined the Nepal Police as an inspector in Chaitra 2054, retired on Thursday after completing a four-year term. Aryal became the Inspector General on 18 Baisakh 2079. The Inspector General has a four-year term in the Armed Forces. Similarly, the age limit of 58 years and the service period of 30 years are also maintained. Of these, the retirement is based on whichever comes first.
Poudel is an officer who joined the service with the current IGP Aryal. He has reached the leadership as the 13th Inspector General of the Armed Forces. Although Poudel has assumed the rank of Inspector General, he will formally assume the leadership.
Poudel, who joined the Nepal Police as an inspector in Chaitra 2054, was transferred with a promotion in Magh 2057 with the formation of the Armed Police Force. He became the acting DSP of the Armed Forces on 18 Asar 2058 and became the DSP on 18 Chaitra of the same year. He became SP on 29 Chaitra 2063, SSP on 2 Jestha 2070, DIG on 13 Kartik 2075 and AIG on 6 Jestha 2079.
Aryal said that reaching the highest level of the security organization responsible for civilian security and successfully retiring was a significant achievement and pride in his life, adding that he had the opportunity to learn the true meaning of discipline, sacrifice, honesty and leadership by treating the organization as a family.
