The Nepal Medical Council has revoked the registration certificates (licenses) of 17 doctors at once.
The council has revoked the licenses of 17 doctors who have renounced Nepali citizenship, informed the council's registrar Dr. Satish Kumar Dev. He said that the licenses of doctors who renounced Nepali citizenship and took foreign passports have been revoked. He said that the names of those doctors have been removed from the registration book.
'According to the Nepal Medical Council Act 2020, Regulations 2024, Nepal Citizenship Act 2063, it has been decided to revoke the names of those 17 doctors who renounced Nepali citizenship and took foreign passports from the council's registration book,' he said.
According to him, the doctors whose licenses will be revoked in this way are Dr. Sharmila Gurung, Dr. Roshan Bhusal, Dr. Moti Gurung, Dr. Devraj Regmi, Dr. Marina Gurung, Dr. Niranjan Dev Pandey, Dr. Rojan KC, Dr. Mamta Gurung, Dr. Rajiv Hamal, Dr. Saluja Singh Tharu, etc. are among them. Similarly, Dr. Sujana KC, Dr. Josna Shahi, Dr. Manisha Hamal, Dr. Supriya Shakya, Dr. Ichha Neupane, Dr. Deepen Dhakal and Dr. Tushar Sarabjana are among them. The doctors whose licenses have been revoked have taken citizenship of British, American, Portuguese, Canadian, Indian, Australian, Hong Kong and other countries.
