The Hetauda Cement Industry, which has been facing a financial crisis for a long time, has closed due to lack of raw materials. The industry, which produced clinker last month, has stopped production after not receiving raw materials.
‘We do not have raw materials including coal, stone and others. There is no possibility of raw materials arriving immediately. Even though an agreement was made for raw materials, the contractor has not been able to transport the raw materials, citing lack of funds, so the industry has had to be closed,’ said Bhakti Ram Shrestha, assistant manager of the industry. The industry, which has a daily production capacity of 16,000 bags of cement, is often closed.
The machine in the industry has encountered some problems during clinker production, and the machine is being repaired. Due to the lack of funds, the employees have not received their salaries for 10 months.
The industry has 166 permanent employees, 100 daily wage earners and 52 security personnel. The industry, which was established in Lamsure, Hetauda in 2033 BS, had started cement production in 2043 BS.
