Parsa National Park has launched the 'Tiger Friend' campaign to reduce incidents of damage caused by wild animals, including tigers. The park has launched this campaign with the aim of promoting human-wildlife coexistence and reducing damage caused by wild animals to zero. The campaign was launched at the community level in coordination with the Division Forest Offices of Parsa, Bara and Makawanpur, which are connected to the park, said Parsa National Park Chief Ramchandra Khatiwada. Under the campaign, discussion programs are being held to raise awareness about the importance of wild animals, how to avoid wild animals, and how to find solutions when problems arise.

Emphasizing that ecotourism can be promoted through tigers, he said that a campaign has been launched to sensitize everyone to prevent such activities as wild animals come out of the forest due to activities such as forest fire and poaching.

The park administration has provided Rs. 1.9 million as compensation to six people who were victims of wild animals including tigers in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The highest loss from wild animals has occurred in Makawanpur.

During the same period, seven cases related to armed poachers and forest firewood have been registered. Six cases related to armed poachers and one case related to forest firewood have been registered, resulting in 15 arrests.
