The proposed Non-Resident Nepali Act bill is being prepared to be presented in the upcoming parliament session.

Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal gave this information at an interaction program held between the NRNA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday. He pointed out the need to present the aspirations of the constitution more clearly from both the conceptual basis and practical implementation perspectives. In addition, Foreign Minister Khanal said that the government is committed to making the act effective by incorporating the rights, roles and contributions of NRNAs. 

At the program, NRNA President Hemraj Sharma, Founding President Upendra Mahato, Outgoing President Badri KC, Former President Kul Acharya, Founding International Coordinator Bhim Udas, Vice Presidents Rojina Pradhan Rai, Buddhi Subedi and Focal Person Saroj Dahal, among others, presented suggestions on the draft act. They pointed out the need to also incorporate the aspirations of NRNAs while maintaining harmony with the social, economic and cultural rights mentioned in the Constitution of Nepal. 

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai stated that the ministry has considered the NRNA as a trusted partner and expressed confidence that this collaboration will be further strengthened in the coming days.
