The government has been administering vitamin A, deworming medication, and infant formula to protect eyesight, boost immunity, reduce malnutrition, and reduce child mortality.

Under the National Vitamin 'A' Program run by the Ministry of Health and Population, around 2.3 million children have been given Vitamin 'A' capsules.

Vitamin 'A' was administered under the National Vitamin 'A' Program run on April 21 and 22. 2.1 million children were also given deworming medicine, informed the Ministry's Information Officer Bhakta KC. Similarly, 800,000 children have been administered Balvita.

Children from 6 months to 59 months across the country were given Vitamin 'A', deworming medicine for children from 12 months to 59 months, and Balvita for children from 6 months to 23 months.

The government, which aims to protect eyesight, increase immunity, reduce malnutrition, and reduce child mortality, has been administering Vitamin 'A', deworming medicine, and Balvita to children.

Around 50,000 female community health volunteers and 15,000 local health workers were deployed in the National Vitamin ‘A’ Program. The government has been operating the National Vitamin ‘A’ Program in Kartik and Baisakh of every fiscal year since 2059 BS and the deworming program since 2067 BS.
