The newly elected chairmen of the ten and two joint committees of the House of Representatives took the oath of office and secrecy on Friday. They took the oath before the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dol Prasad Aryal, at a program organized at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar.

Deputy Speaker Ruby Kumari Thakur, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam, Vice President of the National Assembly Leela Kumari Bhandari, and office bearers of parliamentary parties of political parties were present at the oath-taking ceremony.

The newly elected chairmen include:

• Finance Committee: Dr. Krishnahari Budhathoki
• International Relations and Tourism Committee: Sumnima Udas
• Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee: Rahawar Ansari
• Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee: Samiksha Baskota
• State Administration and Good Governance Committee: Hari Dhakal
• Public Accounts Committee: Bharat Bahadur Khadka
• Women and Social Affairs Committee: Aakriti Awasthi 
• Infrastructure Development Committee: Ashish Gajurel
• Agriculture Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee: Ashok Chaudhary 
• Education, Health and Information Technology Committee: Dr. Ojaswi Sherchan
• Joint Committee Parliamentary Hearing Committee: Bodh Narayan Shrestha 
• Implementation of State Director Principles, Policies and Responsibilities Monitoring and Evaluation Committee: Ganesh Karki 

After two candidates each were nominated for the Education Committee and the State Director, the RSVP candidates were elected based on voice votes . The meeting of the committee to select the chairperson was chaired by the senior member of the concerned committee .
