Brother murdered at Patan Durbar as phone conversation dispute escalates

Two youths were stabbed to death at Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur. Sumit Nembang, 33, a resident of Jhapa, and his 25-year-old brother Sirjan Nembang, who lived in Lalitpur, were killed, according to Lalitpur Police.

SSP Hobindra Bogati, the chief of the Lalitpur District Police Range, who took Sanjeev Nepali, involved in the murder, into custody. According to him, Sirjan thought he was dialing someone else's number and Sanjeev Nepali's number rang.

They had an argument over the phone over the same issue. They had gathered at Patan Durbar Square around 4 pm on Wednesday, saying they would meet up to talk, where Sanjeev stabbed them after the argument escalated.

The seriously injured Nembang brother died during treatment at B&B Hospital. Police arrested two people within minutes of the incident.
