Due to the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds, all seven provinces of the country are currently experiencing rain. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the rain that started in western Nepal in the morning has spread to eastern Nepal. The rain has increased the cold and affected life in some places. There has also been snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous areas.
According to the records received by the department on Wednesday evening, heavy rain has occurred in some districts. As per the measurements taken at 7:45 pm today, the highest rainfall in the last 12 hours was 46.6 millimeters in Dadeldhura and 42.2 millimeters in Doti. This is heavy rain. Similarly, Kathmandu has received 13 millimeters of rain, Lalitpur 12 millimeters of rain and Bhaktapur 8 millimeters of rain.
In the last 3 hours, Dadeldhura has received 30 millimeters of rain. Similarly, Dhankuta has received 15 millimeters of rain, Surkhet 19 millimeters, Doti 13 millimeters of rain, Gorkha 11 millimeters of rain. Rain is still continuing in many districts. According to the department's information officer Dinkar Kayastha, the cloudy weather will continue tomorrow and there will be rain in places. The department has stated that the cloudy weather will weaken from Thursday night.
On Thursday, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of the country including Koshi Province and partially cloudy in the rest of the country. It is said that there is a possibility of moderate rain/snowfall with thunder/lightning in some places of the hilly and mountainous areas of the country including Koshi Province and in a few places of Madhesh Province.
