UML has opposed the government's preparations to dissolve student organizations. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Working President Ram Bahadur Thapa on Friday has opposed it.

'The meeting has strongly opposed the current government's decision to dissolve student organizations and impose restrictions on them and has drawn the attention of the government to immediately withdraw this decision,' UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel said in a statement. The government had decided to dissolve student organizations in 100 programs issued by the government.

Similarly, UML has also objected to the government's decision to give government advertisements to government media. 'The meeting has drawn serious attention to the government's decision to give government advertisements only to government media. The meeting has strongly opposed this decision of the government, which weakens the role of the independent press and stifles press freedom, and has demanded that this decision be withdrawn immediately,' UML has demanded.

The government had decided on Thursday to give government advertisements only to government media.
