Investigative journalist, writer and lecturer Deepa Dahal has been appointed as Prime Minister Balendra Shah's press and research expert. Journalist Dahal was appointed to the post on Friday as per the Prime Minister's Advisor and Secretariat Management Procedures, 2074 BS.

Dahal, who has been active in journalism and academia for more than 2 decades, assumed office on Friday.

She has been writing in the fields of corruption control, good governance and social justice for a long time. Dahal has more than 20 years of professional journalism experience in radio, television, print and online. She was recently doing investigative journalism as a senior correspondent at Ukalod.com.

Dahal, who has been teaching journalism at Padma Kanya Multiple Campus under Tribhuvan University for 7 years, is also a trainer in journalism, communication skills and authentic leadership.

She is also the author of the research-based book ‘Covid: An Unexpected, Unseen Crisis’. Dahal has also been honored with various national and international investigative journalism awards.
