The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been urging people not to engage in activities that spread rumors and fake news on social media about the ongoing war in West Asia. In a press briefing held today, it expressed concern that some people were involved in such activities despite the ministry's request.
According to the ministry, since the start of the Gulf War, 11 people involved in such activities have been arrested by the administrations of the respective countries. 'Nepalese security priority, high-level initiatives intensified'

The government has formed a high-level inter-ministerial task force to assess and manage the possible multifaceted impacts.
The task force is said to prepare a report with short-term, medium-term and long-term measures. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that most of the Nepali citizens are safe as per the details received so far.
In some incidents, Nepali citizens who suffered minor injuries have returned home after treatment and one Nepali has died in the UAE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed in a briefing. In addition, the process of bringing the bodies of 38 Nepalis who died due to various reasons to Nepal is underway, the ministry said. Nepal Airlines Corporation has decided to operate special flights to facilitate rescue and movement. The ministry says that Nepalis will be repatriated and the bodies will be managed through Kathmandu-Dubai-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Dammam-Kathmandu flights.
The ministry has stated that hundreds of contacts have been made so far through the 24-hour emergency control room. In addition, it is stated that hotlines and rapid response teams have been actively mobilized in Nepali missions in various Gulf countries.
On other current issues, it was informed that the Foreign Minister had a telephone conversation with his Portuguese counterpart, the passport system reform process was underway, and the rescue of Nepalis who were involved in illegal online scams in Southeast Asia was ongoing. According to the ministry, 537 Nepalis have been rescued from the region so far.
