Prime Minister Balendra Shah has discussed regional and provincial problems with elected MPs from Madhesh Province.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shah held a briefing with the MPs on the problems seen in education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, irrigation and physical construction work and ways to solve them, said Manish Jha, a member of the National Independent Party.
According to him, during the discussion, the MPs from Madhesh Province drew the Prime Minister's attention to issues such as obstacles seen in service delivery and delays in development work. MP Jha said that he is of the opinion that all the Red Cross committees formed on a party basis should be dissolved and a new structure should be formed to control organized corruption in the name of the Red Cross. He said that he has urged them to stop this by saying that there is a tendency to hesitate to register cases in various districts.
'What can be done now?' The elected MPs from Madhesh Province were present. Discussions were held on education, health, infrastructure and the work of agriculture, irrigation and physical development there. Apart from these, there was more discussion and attention drawn to the work that needs to be done and can be done immediately. Work is being done on how to solve the problem immediately,' he said, 'I also put forward my point. To control the organized corruption happening in the name of the Red Cross, all the Red Cross committees formed on a party basis should be dissolved and new committees should be formed. He put forward his point that the activities that do not seek to register cases in various districts should be stopped immediately. He said that he will instruct the Chief Secretary and Chief District Officers in this regard today.'
In response, Prime Minister Shah expressed his commitment to immediately instruct the Chief Secretary and Chief District Officers to stop the corruption happening in the name of the Red Cross.
