The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has directed to prohibit the entry of unauthorized persons (brokers) into all land-related offices.
On Wednesday, as per the instructions of Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Pratibha Rawal, the concerned department has written to survey offices and land revenue offices across the country to allow entry only by showing identification documents.
The letter has been issued after complaints were received that middlemen entered the offices under various pretexts and accessed important documents and records of the office, so only those with identification documents have been allowed to enter the offices.
The ministry has said that it has taken this step because of the increased uncontrolled access of middlemen and unauthorized persons to confidential and sensitive documents of the office.
The directive raises serious questions about the crowding in various areas of the office and the security of documents, and states that the office head will be responsible if unauthorized persons do not stop the entry.
