The Advertisement Board has urged people not to publish and broadcast advertisements on unauthorized websites, betting apps, social media and places prohibited by law.

Stating that the government has already decided to close all types of betting apps and websites in its meeting of the Council of Ministers on Chaitra 13, the Board has requested stakeholders to immediately close and have them closed if any advertisements are published, broadcast or displayed illegally.

If advertisements are found to be published, broadcast or displayed illegally and on closed apps and websites, action will be taken as per the prevailing law, so if such activities are found to be taking place, a complaint has been requested to be filed with the Board as soon as possible, informed the Chief Administrative Officer of the Board, Devi Pandey Khatri.

The Board has also reminded people of the provision that advertisements should not be published on topics that encourage gambling and playing or buying lottery tickets not permitted under the prevailing law as per Section 5 of the Advertisement (Regulation) Act, 2076 BS.
